Matthew the Scribe

Matthew was one of the apostles.  He is pictured with an angel standing next to him dictating what he was to write.  The character seems to be copied from the Egyptian Story concerning Lord Horus.  Taht-Matiu was the scribe of the gods.  The lion is the symbol attributed to Matthew which is the zodiac symbol of Egyptian month Taht-Matiu (Thoth).

Virgin Mary and Koran

Virgin Mary and Koran

Virgin Mary is a Big Deal in the Quran and Muslim Tradition

And when she bore her, she said, ‘My Lord, I have borne a female [child]’ —and God [Allah] knew better what she had borne — ‘and the male is not like the female. I have named her Mary, and I commend her and her offspring to Your care against [the evil of] the outcast Satan.’ (3:36)

Virgin Mary Goes to Hell

Jesus may be the reason for the season, but as with most births, it’s his mother who’s the real hero of the Christmas story. Having undergone a lengthy and dangerous journey to Bethlehem, the teenage Mary gives birth in uncomfortable conditions and without the support of her immediate family. After the nativity, Mary only makes a few cameos in the Gospels; we hear almost nothing about Jesus’s upbringing and Jesus is dismissive of her on at least two occasions.
